Bogus POTUS SCOTUS Notice

Brett Kavanaugh, President Trump's nominee for the Supreme Court, is far to the right of most Americans on just about every issue. Among the environmental laws and protections that would be in jeopardy if Kavanaugh is seated on the high court are President Obama’s signature Clean Power Plan, the Clean Water Rule, clean air protections, and commonsense safeguards against toxic chemicals like arsenic and mercury. The Affordable Care Act and women’s right to choose would also be on the endangered list.

Urge your senators to oppose Kavanaugh's nomination.

Thanks in large part to your activism, Scott Pruitt has been shown the door at the EPA amid mounting scandals that even President Trump could no longer abide. We will use the same energy and passion that helped remove Pruitt to ensure that the next EPA administrator works for the public, not corporate polluters. Andrew Wheeler, the acting EPA administrator, is a denier of climate science who has spent the last decade lobbying for corporate polluters. All indications point to Wheeler continuing Pruitt’s ideology, policies, and destructive practices if he is confirmed as EPA administrator.

Tell your senators they must confirm a nominee who will hold the health and safety of American families in higher regard than the profits of big polluters.

Grizzly bears today occupy only about three percent of their historic range in the lower 48 states. Yet last year, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service took the Greater Yellowstone grizzly off the Endangered Species list, relinquishing management to the states of Idaho, Montana, and Wyoming, which border Yellowstone National Park. The result? The Wyoming Game and Fish Commission announced that it will allow trophy hunting of grizzlies for the first time in 40 years, starting September 1.

But the hunt could be canceled—find out why.

When Suzanne Kennedy-Howard was diagnosed with lupus, she and her wife Nellis promised one another they wouldn't let health challenges stand in the way of their outdoor adventuring. "It hasn't always been easy," says Kennedy-Howard. "Living with lupus means being careful about getting my heart rate elevated, staying out in the sun, and tiring myself out. On bad days even a flight of stairs can cause a lupus flare that might take over a week to recover from. But we live our lives."

EPA Budget on the Chopping Block

Congress will vote this week on a bill put forth by the GOP leadership that would slash the EPA budget by $500 million, cut $65 million from the popular Land and Water Conservation Fund, and chop funding for the endangered species listing program by nearly half. The bill is also full of "poison pill" policy riders that have no place in the funding process.

Tell your member of Congress to vote NO on this dangerous bill.
